Vacancy – Consultant Project Officer(s) – Capacity Building

Required Qualifications

  • A first degree in Social Development, Project Management, Economic Development, Strategic Management or a relevant field.
  • A Masters in a relevant Social Science field will be an asset.

 Required Experience

  • Minimum of three year’s work on development projects with NGOs as an integral beneficiary or implementing partner;
  • Minimum of three years professional experience in the region’s development sector;
  • Experience coordinating decentralised multi-stakeholder processes;
  • Proven experience undertaking three or more of the following actions in a social development context:
    • strategic planning, proposal writing, project monitoring, project evaluating, project administration, grant management, NGO institutional assessments, etc.
  • Proven experience working as part of a project team as well as strong inter-personal skills.
  • Previous experience providing technical assistance to NGOs is an asset.

Contract period:  2nd January 2018 – 31st December 2018 (option for two one-year renewals)

As part of the Civil Society Regional Development Project which is funded by the European Union, the Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC) is happy to announce our continued partnership with the University of the West Indies, Open Campus, for the online NGO Management Certificate Course.  While there is no direct cost to the scholarship recipients, there is a registration fee of $100 USD which will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the course. Both application forms must be completed in order to qualify for the CPDC Scholarship.

The course will be conducted only through distant/online modalities. The participants have to be based in the CARIFORUM region and affiliated with an NGO.

EXTENDED DEADLINE: NGO Leadership Training Workshop

The Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC) in partnership with the European Union (EU) is implementing a joint 3-year grant partnership that seeks to build the capacity of the Non-Governmental Sector in the Caribbean through the implementation of a number of specific actions. One specific action is the NGO Leadership Training Workshop. In light of this, CPDC is offering scholarships to individuals interested in attending an NGO Leadership Training Workshop. This scholarship is only available to NGO personnel who function at a senior level in their NGO. A letter of endorsement is required either from the NGO’s Board or the relevant authority.

The training will focus on NGO Leadership and Resource Mobilisation. The training is scholarship-based and includes tuition fee, airfare, hotel accommodation, and meals. However, there is a non-refundable registration fee of USD$150.00. The participants must be based in the CARIFORUM region and work with an NGO.

The dates for the NGO Leadership Training Workshop are 14th – 17th November 2017. The tentative location for the NGO Leadership Training Workshop is St. Lucia.

Under this Civil Society Regional Development Project which aims to improve the regional and national CARIFORUM civil society organisations’ (CSOs) effectiveness in regional development and integration processes, the CPDC is seeking to recruit a Project Consultant responsible for the Governance portfolio.

  • Knowledge of key governance issues in the Caribbean and also in the NGO sector;
