The Organisation of American States (OAS) has established a participatory mechanism called the Permanent Inter-American Forum of Civil Society and Social Actors (PASCA). It aims to promote participatory governance within the OAS.

The PASCA project has a trifold focus:

  • To create and implement a mechanism (Council, Delegation, Committee) of civil society that articulates for the Civil Society Organizations in the region;
  • To increase the collaboration, consultation and commitment between the Civil Society Organizations and the Organizations of the American States to present recommendations for the Summit of the Americas 2018; and
  • To improve the capacities of civil society to monitor the implementation and impact of the 2015 Summit and to participate efficiently in the 2018 Summit.

CPDC is responsible for work in the following countries:

  • Barbados
  • Dominica
  • Grenada
  • Lucia
  • Vincent and the Grenadines
