MISSION
To provide an enabling environment for the advancement of human rights for the LGBTI Community in St. Lucia.
FOCAL AREAS
HIV/AIDS Education, provision of HIV/AIDS commodities, Peer Counselling & Support, Policy Advocacy, Human Rights
KEY OBJECTIVES
To enhance the quality of life of LGBTI persons in all spheres of development through empowerment and service delivery;
To enhance the knowledge of LGBTI persons on human rights related issues in St. Lucia,
To expand visibility of United and Strong Services, programs, and resources to LGBTI population;
To increase the use of media tools and emerging technologies by United & Strong and community partners to extend the reach of health and human rights related services;
To foster a greater working relationship with national government service and other CSOs; and
To increase communication with government with hopes of creating dialogue on reviewing the existing laws which impose on the privacy and protection of LGBT persons.
MAJOR/CURRENT ACHIEVEMENTS
The establishment of an in house HIV Clinic;
The creation of a safe space for at risk youth;
Provided training for HIV/SYPHILLIS rapid testers and counsellors; and
United & Strong is the only recognized LGBT organization on the island.
