On 3 December 2020, the EU and the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) struck a political deal on a new agreement that will succeed the Cotonou Partnership Agreement. The new partnership agreement will serve as the new legal framework for EU relations with 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.
Hosted from Brussels, the consultation focuses on the role given to the economic and social stakeholders in the new legal framework developed by the EU and the 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (OACPS-EU Partnership).
The agreement aims to strengthen the capacity of the EU and the ACP countries to address global challenges together, laying down common principles.
